Who are we hiring?

 The Staff Accountant supports Sphere Entertainment Corporate Accounting in day-to-day operations, as well as monthly and quarterly accounting close.  The Staff Accountant has on-going administrative responsibilities related to the Fixed Asset Sub-Ledger.  Responsibilities also include journal entries, account reconciliations, and support for the VP Corporate Accounting. 

What will you do?

  • Provide timely and detailed monthly/quarterly Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss account analysis as assigned, including substantiation of account balances. Recommend adjusting journal entries, where needed.  Most schedules are used for internal or external reporting, and tax purposes.
  • Review Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR’s) for compliance with capitalization policies.
  • Assist with monthly close of Oracle Fixed Asset Sub-Ledger, and run reports to verify ending totals
  • Issue monthly and quarterly reports on Capital Expenditures, and roll-forward of balances for Fixed Assets and Accumulated Depreciation.
  • Issue monthly results reports for various Corporate Departments.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of the quarterly balance sheet analyses.
  • Assist VP, Corporate Accounting with requests from Tax, External Auditors and Internal Auditors.
  • Assist/recommend/improve company-wide utilization of financial systems to enhance accuracy and timeliness of reporting.
  • Support Corporate Accounting group day-to-day activities. Complete special projects in an accurate and timely manner, as assigned.

What do you need to succeed?

  • BS or BA required (preferred degree is Accounting/Finance, or related discipline).
  • One to two years (or more) related experience.
  • Understanding of monthly close process.
  • Exposure to financial statements, account analyses and reconciliations.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
  • Ability to interact with cross functional groups.
  • Strong spreadsheet skills (Excel), as well as strong writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to evaluate processes and recommend/implement more efficient practices and procedures.

$67,000$80,000 USD
