The Underwriting Support- Life and Health Insurance role is responsible for receiving new applications, entering the information into our processing systems, contacting agents for missing information for new applications, and following up on pending applications for New Business and Underwriting. Successful Representatives in this role maintain Productivity, Efficiency, and Quality performance standards, while practicing confidentiality 100% of the time.

  • Attention to detail; Answer inbound calls with a clear understanding of inquiries and requests, collect all information needed to assist, communicate needs and timelines for internal processes.
    • Calls may include assisting agents with sales support questions, online tech support, status of pending applications and necessary information needed to complete application process
  • Review inbound applications in the order they are received.
    • Completes processing on application using established guidelines
    • Reviews applications and forms for completion
    • Transfer data from paper into database
  • Establish professional relationship with agents and admins
  • Answering phone calls and Team chatsfor New Business and Underwriting
  • Work well as a team
  • Other responsibilities include and are not limited to:
    • Outbound phone calls, emails to agents and incoming faxes.
    • Meet or exceed established production quantity and quality standards per day
    • Ability to thoroughly document case files and pass all review audits both internal and external.
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of successful professional experience (preferably in an office setting with higher number of inbound calls)
  • Life and Health insurance background preferred.
  • Whole Life and/or Medicare Supplement insurance a plus.
  • Strong Data Entry skills
  • Microsoft office skills
  • Bilingual a plus (English & Spanish)
  • Ability to learn and understand multiple carriers’ underwriting processes and procedures, differentiate between carriers, and apply the specific procedures appropriately.
  • Ability to adapt and work effectively in a continuously changing environment.
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize appropriately when competing demands and large volumes develop.
  • Consistently demonstrate a high level of professionalism and a strong work ethic, which positively influence the work habits of the team.
  • Strong computer, oral and written communication
