About the role

Reporting into the Practice Manager, you’ll be providing short term, solution focussed intervention to Sonder Members through a virtual setting and assisting members at various points in their mental health journey and across a variety of presentations including anxiety, mood disorders, self harm, suicidal ideation, relationship issues, distress regarding workplace or university demands, interpersonal conflict, trauma, sexuality and gender identity.

You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team including Registered Psychologists, Counsellors, Social Workers, Registered Nurses, on-call GPs and support coordinators, supported by a governance and leadership team with experience in acute care, community services and organisational well-being.

Ideally the role is a permanent,full time role (38 hours per week), however we would consider part-time hours for the right applicants (Minimum 3 days per week) with a salary package including all employment benefits and in-house authorised supervision.

What you’ll be doing

  • Providing short term, solution focussed intervention
  • Delivering evidence based psychological assessment, clinical formulation, treatment planning and delivery in multiple evidence-based therapeutic modalities 
  • Using a collaborative person-centered approach to identifying achievable  treatment goals with our members
  • Using  clinical screening tools to assist in the assessment, progression and outcome measurement of clinical services delivered
  • Contributing your expertise to a multi-disciplinary team committed to health outcomes
  • Working within a stepped care model which supports you to work within and grow your professional boundaries
  • Participating in provided 1:1 supervision fortnightly and group supervision weekly to build on your skills and learning by our in house AHPRA Board Approved Supervisor

What you bring to the team;

  • Minimum 3  years clinical experience which includes:
    • Evidence based, person centred and recovery focused formulation, treatment planning and delivery
    • Experience providing mental health intervention in a virtual and high volume setting
    • Ability to manage patient risk remotely, and understanding how and where to appropriately refer
    • Multidisciplinary case collaboration and dual ‘customer’ stakeholder management
    • A variety of presentations, symptom experiences and diagnostic clusters across a diverse intersectional patient cohort
    • Workplace health & well-being 
  • Previous experience working in short term & solution focused model of care
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary health teams
  • Unrestricted Registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist 
  • Adaptable to change and able to navigate and thrive in a dynamic environment where changes are frequent. 
  • Flexibility in approach, willing to tailor therapeutic therapeutic methods and intervention to suit members needs
