Job Summary:
Open Access is a 24-hour answering service for our NOMS patients and providers. The Patient Services Coordinator is responsible for assisting patients and providers after hours by answering medical questions, chart management, communicating patient needs to providers, and running patient reports. Friday, Saturday, Sunday 8am - 8pm. This is a remote position.
Essential Functions:
1. Answer patient calls after hours, relay patient messages, and communicate urgent patient concerns with Providers as needed.
2. Document thoroughly within patient charts of our electronic medical record system
3. Assist our clinicians with patient reports
4. Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, and medical records
5. Complies with all HIPAA regulations and policies
6. Other duties as assigned

Education and Work Experience:
High School Diploma Required
Graduate of medical assisting program preferred
Minimum of one year work experience in public contact job. Preferable in a medical office environment
Certificates and Licenses Required:
Current CMA or RMA or current LPN
Environmental/Working Conditions:
Office setting, well-ventilated and well lighted. Work involves frequent telephone contact with patients. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive.
Physical/Mental Demands:
Normal office environment. Work is typically performed at a desk or table requiring the use of standard office equipment. Intermittent sitting, standing and stooping. May view computer screen for long periods of time. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive.
