The Opportunity

Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity as a Manager FP&A. In this role, you will partner with leadership on developing business strategies and play a key role in planning, forecasting, and reporting on financial and operational performance and trends. You will lead and support high-impact, cross-functional projects to improve the business in the short and long term. Incumbent must be a self-starter with an operational mindset and the ability to think critically, translate data into actionable insights, and provide creative solutions to complex business problems. You will develop and execute the annual budgeting process and continuous forecasting, perform complex financial analysis, and deliver reports to company leaders and executives to inform key strategic and operating decisions. Works on high-level strategic projects, board materials, analyses, and forecasting for different business cases, and collaborates directly with different team members, from sales and marketing to people and operations, depending on the project.

 

How You'll Make a Difference

  • Prepare monthly management reports and analyses to track business operations. Lead the monthly rolling forecast and annual financial planning/budgeting process. Support management with the analysis of financial data and the development of improvement measures. Monitor expenses closely and work with business partners to deliver cost savings targets. Support operational teams in setting up reporting infrastructure and ongoing forecasting and key analysis.
  • Work with business partners and develop in-depth business insights. Actively engage in key business opportunities and challenges to support business growth. Prepare ad hoc reporting from Division/Group/Management. Support special projects and analytical reviews. Support the monthly financial closing process. Coach and develop team members.
  • Educate internal teams on the financial impact of key performance metrics. Manage financial reporting infrastructure that connects and bridges three main data hubs: internal financial data mart, accounting system data, and internal financial forecasts. Play a key role in annual strategic financial planning and quarterly cross-functional forecasting processes. Build, maintain, and enhance rolling, quarterly, and annual forecasting models.
  • Proactively perform financial and operational analysis and modeling to deepen understanding of the business, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend next steps.
  • Direct and manage day-to-day operations of the Finance team and analysis, which includes, but is not limited to, analyzing, monitoring, and reporting on daily and monthly performance to identify trends, explain performance to plan/forecast and monitor operational and financial health across all areas of the business.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as determined by Valvoline from time to time in its sole discretion.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or another related field
  • Minimum of five years of experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, consulting, or a relevant field, preferably within a high-growth environment
  • Minimum of two years of direct experience building full three-statement financial statement models and associated analysis
  • Minimum of two years of managerial (managing direct reports) experience
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Familiarity with accounting concepts and familiarity with BI tools, relational database concepts, and SQL query scripting are a plus
  • Strong managerial, interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects, as well as strong follow-through skills
  • Must be proactive, self-motivated, and dynamic with the ability to work under high pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in English language skills
  • Advanced level of Microsoft Excel knowledge preferred
  • SAP experience preferred
  • CPA, CFA, or CMA preferred
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
