About The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to oversee our IT project portfolio. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Vice Chancellor IT CIO or their designee to manage project methodologies, standards, and governance, ensuring that each project delivers measurable benefits to our organization. Your leadership will guide a team of Enterprise IT Project Managers while overseeing the PMO within the IT department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the IT Project Management Office, ensuring excellence in project management practices.
  • Lead and direct projects, ensuring on-time completion, budget adherence, and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Provide clear and timely information to stakeholders, team members, and IT management.
  • Motivate, collaborate with, and manage the project team, driving performance and collaboration.
  • Identify, prioritize, and mitigate project risks.
  • Ensure adherence to established processes and standards, modifying as needed to align with best practices.
  • Develop and administer a framework for project prioritization across the organization.
  • Lead large teams and manage complex projects while meeting scope, quality, time, and budget requirements.
  • Structure and lead project status reviews and post-completion evaluations for continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate project activities, review proposals, and manage schedules and budgets.
  • Develop project documentation, including charters, milestones, and roles & responsibilities.
  • Select project team members, plan and review their work, and provide training and mentorship.
  • Develop and execute a change management strategy for project success.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets.
  • Ensure a smooth transition of project deliverables upon completion.
  • Foster strong working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and community partners.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and five years of experience in IT project management; or an Associate degree in a related field with seven years of IT project management experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Prince2, or equivalent certification; or two years of additional IT project management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing IT projects in a higher education environment.
  • Experience with complex ERP, networking, or security projects.

  • Strong project management skills, capable of handling multiple projects in a cross-functional environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships, resolve issues, and apply best practices in project management.
