Your missions

Could you use local media, social media, leaflets, posters and other resources to tell the local community what Read Easy Birmingham South West does and how people can get the reading support they need, or volunteer to help?

What difference will you make?

You will help us reach adults in South West Birmingham who are struggling with reading, and help us offer them a life-changing opportunity

What are we looking for?

You will be creative, determined and passionate about communications, and bringing people together. You’ll be confident and experienced using local media, social media, and distributing leaflets, posters and other resources provided by Read Easy UK to help get the message out there into your community about the life-changing journey of learning to read. Once the local community and media hear about the thousands of adults who can’t read in the area, it will be your responsibility to make sure that our Read Easy group is able to capitalise on this attention!

What will you be doing?

In this role you will lead by using social media effectively to raise awareness and publicise your local group; and be instrumental in raising awareness by giving talks, putting up posters and talking to people generally about Read Easy. Your responsibilities Liaise with the Management Team to decide on the group’s publicity needs. Maintain the group’s Facebook page. Maintain Twitter and/or other social media platforms to raise your group’s profile Organise the printing and placement of posters, leaflets, and other publicity materials. Identify any specific opportunities for publicity locally or via national events. Provide stories and photographs for the Read Easy UK website and newsletter about the group’s activities and achievements.
