Job Summary:
The Sr. Director, Specialty Pharmacy is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the specialty pharmacy daily operations and clinical practices. The incumbent will be accountable for delivering and meeting the financial, business, and people strategic goals and initiatives. The Sr. Director will lead a national team through the achievement of operational excellence, growth, and development, while enabling superior customer experiences and exceptional patient care.
The role has accountability for the overall performance and strategic success of the National Specialty Pharmacy sites across Canada in alignment with the vision and priorities of Biopharma & Provider Solutions. The incumbent must have a passion for the business, deep knowledge of the Specialty Pharmacy sector, a strong ability to drive cross functional collaboration in order to execute best in class solutions for our Biopharma clients and partners.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Oversees our national pharmacy operations and provides direction on pharmacy strategies, initiatives, and projects across Canada.
- Responsible for pharmacy operations including implementing departmental initiatives, financial objectives, tracking and reporting on KPI’s and ensuring SLA’s are met.
- Leads the national pharmacy team in the creation/implementation/execution of department processes and procedures consistent with the organization's mission and care philosophy.
- Ensures standardization of processes and smooth rollout of national pharmacy initiatives and programs.
- Promotes collaboration with each Specialty Pharmacy across Canada and other business units to grow the division.
- Lead and support the development and achievement of strategic objectives and collaborative initiatives across business units.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Management systems, privacy SOPs, the Colleges of Pharmacy, and other regulatory requirements.
- Act as a liaison facilitating effective collaboration and communication with key stakeholders and ensure that national pharmacy standards and processes are implemented and sustained.
- Specialty Pharmacy P&L accountability for dispensing revenue, margin and profitability, forecasting and LRP planning.
- Analyze, compile and draw insights on financial and operational metrics to enhance the pharmacy business and create action plans to capitalize on and grow pharmacy revenue.
- Ensure accurate monthly pharmacy inventory and reconciliation, compliance and process audits, inventory metrics at all pharmacy sites.
- Responsible for Specialty Pharmacy AR. Collaborate with Finance on collections including manage payor audits to reduce and eliminate claw back risk.
- Drive excellence in Net Promoter Score results from patients, caregivers, and relevant stakeholders.
- Prioritize patient-centricity and superior customer experiences in all aspects of the pharmacy business.
- Promote and ensure that the highest quality of care is provided to patients and families.
- Participate and lead new business development initiatives involving Specialty Pharmacy for existing and potential clients in conjunction with Biopharma & Payer Solutions teams.
- Attend conferences to gain knowledge and solidify working relationships with navigation, providers solutions, clinics and physicians.
- Lead a team in a large multi-level pharmacy division including performance management, talent management, recruitment, engagement and retention.
- Provide direction and support to respective regional leads, pharmacy managers and pharmacy staff.
- Promote behaviours that uphold McKesson i2Care and iLEAD principles.
- Ensure company policies and regulatory standards are at the foremost of all activities and decisions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree, or a similar degree and/or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in Specialty Pharmacy or related field.
- 7-10 years of people and progressive pharmacy management experience.
Key Competencies:
- A valid license in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists is an asset.
- Possess strong working knowledge of Kroll and its capabilities.
- Able to travel as business needs arise; possess a valid driver’s license.
- Strong leadership skills; can lead, inspire, mentor, develop, and guide a team.
- Expertise in major therapeutic areas required by Specialty Pharmacy Services.
- Excellent project management skills and time management skills.
- A professional, confident, and strategic relationship builder.

$138,800 - $231,300
