We are currently recruiting for a well-established and booming IP practice. This is an impressive team of attorneys and agents looking for another top-quality patent attorney who is passionate about this dynamic area of law. The work will primarily relate to the preparation & prosecution of patents, opinions, portfolio strategy, due diligence, and potentially PTAB work, depending on the ongoing demands of the firm.
This practice group has an impressive, diverse client list with a steady influx of challenging and sophisticated. Here, you will have the opportunity to engage with the clients at all levels.
We are looking for someone with a strong engineering background, as this group deals with a wide range of hardware and software applications (industrial and consumer electronics, analog and digital circuits, chip architecture, wireless telecommunications, enterprise applications, network security, network protocols, databases, web services, operating systems, software user interfaces, open source, etc.).
Client assignment and responsibility will be dependent upon your technical expertise (i.e., software vs. hardware, etc.), experience, and demonstrated ability.
Patent Attorney Requirements:
- Minimum BS Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics. Prior engineering experience would be a plus.
- State bar, patent bar.
- Ideally, at least 2 years of full time US patent drafting and prosecution experience.
Patent Agent Requirements:
- Preferably an MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics. Prior engineering experience would be a plus.
- Patent bar.
- Ideally, at least 3 years of full time US patent drafting and prosecution experience.
