About The OPPORTUNITY

We currently have a new and exciting full time opportunity as a Senior Project Manager – Digital Data and Cyber Security (DDC) to join our team based in Adelaide, South Australia. The location can be flexible for Melbourne and Sydney based candidates as well.

Reporting to the Information Management and Technology Program Manager, you will be responsible to plan and deliver the complex projects and engage with wide range of stakeholders to achieve the required project outcomes. This includes guiding the project execution through the application of project management disciplines in accordance with the BAE Systems Australia Project Management framework

Key responsibilities include:

  • Take end-to-end accountability for the successful delivery of projects, from Envision stage through to completion where sought outcomes are achieved within agreed timelines and budgets
  • Compile required project management artefacts and investment board submissions that are sufficiently informative and contain cross-business based content to allow the relevant decision makers to make informed decisions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships and communication channels with internal and external stakeholders and promote/demonstrate clear, effective, and open communications with project teams, suppliers and stakeholders
  • Provide sufficiently detailed project status reports to the leadership including to Steering Committees when necessary
  • Manage projects changes against baseline in line with the change control process defined at BAE Systems which includes changes to scope, time, and budget
  • Proactively contribute to the continuous improvement of project delivery processes, practices
  • Work with BAE Systems' procurements team to execute diligent supplier selection practices that include preparation of tender materials, evaluation of tender responses and negotiation of scope, pricing, and delivery timeframes
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to expected quality and take corrective actions if required
  • Identify project resourcing needs and manage demand to meet current and future needs


About YOU

  • Significant relevant experience in project management especially in delivering complex digital transformation projects
  • An ability to articulate project strategy/purpose and link to project objectives and deliverables
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal with proven experience in partnering with internal and external parties to understand and articulate outcomes being sought by the project and translating this into a schedule for execution
  • An ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders at all levels coupled with an understanding and challenging existing ways-of-working to enable innovative working style and successful outcomes
  • Experienced at using MS Excel, MS Project, Confluence, Jira, MS PowerPoint, MS Word
  • Whilst not essential, degree qualification in project management or another relevant discipline will be highly regarded.
