As Director of Growth Marketing, you will work in close partnership with startup CEOs to effectively raise an investment round, from kickoff to close. We’re looking for a dynamic professional with experience managing internal and external stakeholders to oversee the operations, strategy, and marketing of deals, in addition to building the deal marketing department and its team.

As a major bonus, you’ll be part of an inclusive, fun, and engaging team. We have a track record of working with YC-backed technology companies and corporations such as Universal Music Group, Meta, and Estée Lauder. We’re graduates of Cornell, Georgetown, Oxford, USC, and UCLA, and our work has been featured in Forbes, The New York Times, PBS, The Financial Times, and Fast Company.

We’re experiencing explosive growth - come be part of our journey!

What will you be doing?

Contribute to, and ultimately lead, the strategy, operations, and marketing for startups raising capital, in partnership with CEOs/founders, their teams, and the Capital Department team. In addition, you’ll build and lead the deal marketing team here at Capital Department.

Strategy

  • Build and oversee a high-performing deal marketing team, orchestrating a dynamic group that consistently delivers exceptional results.
  • Set the marketing strategy for investment campaigns.
  • Lead customer calls with CEOs/founders and their teams.
  • Develop strategic partnerships, creating deal flow for our customers and partners.
  • Design and implement internal systems, processes, and tools to enhance fundraising outcomes and scale operations.
  • Oversee and build campaign performance tracking, analysis, and reporting on marketing activities in conjunction with the wider Capital Department team.

Marketing

  • Craft compelling fundraising narratives to guide communications and sell the investment opportunity to prospective investors.
  • Manage the creation of fundraising assets, writing and refining persuasive copy for investor decks, market research reports, press releases, media plans, pitches, webinar and video materials, and investor communications.
  • Develop and execute a multi-channel, integrated marketing plan to reach potential investor audiences, including company customers, partners, personal networks, angel investors, funds, and more.

What are we looking for?

  • 5-8 years of experience in customer acquisition and/or growth marketing.
  • Relationship builders who are skilled at establishing and nurturing channel partnerships that effectively convert to qualified prospects.
  • Adept leader who specializes in assembling and nurturing skilled marketing teams, ensuring they are empowered and aligned to meet business objectives.
  • Marketing analytics expert who excels at developing data-driven strategies and building out analytics capabilities.
  • Previous experience copywriting, with a strong emphasis on driving sales conversion, startups, and financial content.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Creative, curious thinkers who thrive in startup environments, where ambiguity and uncertainty are the norm.
  • Effective communicators who are clear, responsive, and diligent.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets or Word, Powerpoint, and Excel.

What experience would be an added bonus?

  • Marketing experience at a fast-growing company, venture fund, or an entrepreneurial background (including as a founder!).
  • Experience writing for a business audience; storytelling and experience writing investor communications a plus.
  • Previous experience in fundraising, client services, or at a venture firm, accelerator, or agency.
  • Experience with Reg CF platforms (Wefunder, Republic, DealMaker, etc).
  • Advanced degrees, especially an MBA or a management-related degree.

Why is this a great opportunity?

  • Shape the narrative of cutting-edge products and empower entrepreneurs to raise capital and revolutionize industries.
  • Make a significant difference in the startup ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with visionary CEOs.
  • Build and scale a marketing team from scratch.
  • Develop a strong personal brand in the startup and investment space.
