We are seeking a skilled System Administrator with expertise in Office 365 and Messaging systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Office 365 environment, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and related services. Additionally, this role will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation, optimization, and security of our messaging infrastructure.
This is a remote role. Candidates must reside in Pacific, Mountain, or Central Time Zones.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Manage and administer Exchange OnPrem, Office 365 tenant, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Teams.
- Design, implement, and maintain messaging systems and related infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance and ensure reliability and availability of Messaging and collaboration services.
- Configure and maintain security settings, policies, and permissions.
- Creation and management of user and recipients’ objects.
- Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to integrate Messaging services with other business systems.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Office 365 and messaging-related issues.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices related to Office 365 and messaging systems.
- Tier 3 troubleshooting for the messaging environment.
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven experience as a System Administrator managing Office 365/hybrid environments.
- Strong knowledge of Exchange Online, including mail flow, connectors, and security features (Exchange Online Protection/EOP).
- Hands on experience managing Exchange in a hybrid environment, including experience with SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Teams administration.
- Experience administering Proofpoint mail security infrastructure. (PPS/POD, Threat Response, Secure email relay, SER.).
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for Office 365 administration and automation.
- Solid understanding of email protocols (SMTP, IMAP, etc.) and email security best practices.
- Patching MS Exchange Servers/applications.
- Email authentication and certificate management (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, PKI).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to Office 365 and messaging systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Certifications such as MCSA: Office 365 or similar are a plus.
Pay Range
CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.
For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.
Pay Range: $79,704 – $132,692
