About the role:
This position is part of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), Office of Information Technology, Policy and Governance. As an IT Specialist (Network), you will be responsible for management, planning, and support of special projects related to DFC's common and emerging information technology (IT) activities and resources that are used throughout DFC operating units that support DFC-wide operations.
What you’ll do:
- Manage and monitor daily system and data backups and regularly monitor operations of the network equipment and systems.
- Evaluate the adequacy of, and recommend new or revised, IT security policies, standards, and procedures as they relate to the network and operations.
- Design, configure, and implement network hardware and software.
- Participate in Business Continuation/Disaster Recovery infrastructure planning, building, and testing, including network performance, security, anti-virus, intrusion, web usage/monitoring, design, and acquisition of servers.
- Provide training on new hardware, programs, and databases to IT staff members, including refresher training as needed.
Experience we’re looking for:
1) Experience in the installation, operations, monitoring, and maintenance of IT network devices (hardware, software, and firmware);
2) Experience with IT security policies, standards, and procedures as they relate to the network and operations;
3) Experience implementing and/or as primary administrator with Microsoft Azure and configurations at an enterprise level and;
4) Experience implementing and/or as primary administrator with Zscaler and/or Identity and Access Management (IAM) technologies at an enterprise level.
