JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary

The Garnishments & Subpoenas Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of legal documents, including garnishments and subpoenas, within a law enforcement or legal department. This role involves managing the administrative aspects of legal and financial orders, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, management in Salesforce and supporting law enforcement personnel by handling critical documentation with precision within service level agreements.

Responsibilities

Processing Garnishments:

  • Verify and review garnishment orders to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Coordinate with operations and financial departments to coordinate checks.

  • Manage court orders in SalesForce cases to ensure detailed records of garnishment, transactions and communications.

  • Ensure timely remittance of garnished funds to the appropriate entities.

Handling Subpoenas:

  • Review and validate the authenticity and accuracy of subpoenas.

  • Ensure prompt and correct service of subpoenas to individuals or organizations.

  • Collect and prepare requested documents or evidence in response to subpoenas.

  • Coordinate with legal counsel and law enforcement personnel to ensure compliance.

Legal and Procedural Compliance:

  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and procedures related to garnishments and subpoenas.

  • Ensure all processing activities adhere to legal standards and departmental policies.

  • Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to garnishments and subpoenas.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all garnishment and subpoena-related activities.

  • Prepare and organize reports, files, and documentation for audits and legal reviews.

  • Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive information.

  • Able to create Standard Operation Procedures.

Automation and Process Improvements:

  • Comfortable working in a CRM system

  • Able to accept change and test new automation processes.

  • Able to learn new systems and ways of working

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or educational equivalency

  • 2 years of experience working in a court, judicial or law enforcement area working with Subpoenas and Garnishments

  • Must be extremely detail oriented.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor or Masters degree

  • Comfortable running queries in a database

  • Comfortable working with Federal and State agencies

  • Proficiency with Salesforce

  • Must be extremely detail oriented.

PAY RANGE

The targeted base salary for this position is $31,900 to $48,700 per year. The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate’s geographical location.
