100% Remote - Must reside in the US full time

Brandt Information Services, the leading provider of SaaS technology and marketing services for state wildlife and parks agencies, is paving the way to better communicate and serve the public through their journey to go camping, fishing, boating, hunting, or hiking on public land. The Business Analyst plays a critical role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions. This role requires extensive experience in gathering, analyzing, and translating business requirements into detailed actionable requirements. As a Business Analyst, you will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, development team members, and the quality assurance team to ensure deliverables are met. Your ability to navigate ambiguity and solve complex problems will be key to driving progress.


Key Responsibilities:

Requirement Gathering and Analysis:

  • Lead the requirement elicitation process by engaging with stakeholders to understand their needs and objectives.
  • Break down high-level concepts into detailed functional requirements, user stories, and developer tasks.
  • Conduct workshops, interviews, and other techniques to gather comprehensive and accurate business requirements.

Documentation and Communication:

  • Prepare and maintain clear and concise documentation, including business requirements, functional requirements, user stories, and process flows. Ensure that all stakeholders have a shared understanding of the requirements through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clarifying requirements during the project lifecycle.

Problem Solving and Ambiguity Management:

  • Work effectively in areas of uncertainty, using your analytical skills to clarify ambiguous requirements and resolve complex business needs.
  • Apply creative problem-solving techniques to design solutions that meet business needs and align with technical capabilities.

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:

  • Work closely with project managers, developers, testers, and other team members to ensure that business requirements are accurately translated into viable solutions.
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders and technical teams to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
  • Lead Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.


Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of information management, information technology, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years related experience in a technical Business Analyst Role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Current working knowledge of systems development life cycle (SDLC).


Experience:

  • Strong background in requirement gathering, functional specification development, and stakeholder management.
  • Experience working in Agile and Waterfall environments.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst (BA) working directly with end customers focused on requirement elicitation from high level concepts to epics and ultimately into user stories.
  • Proven experience working in a team-oriented manner where there is a high level of collaboration and work sharing.
  • Experience performing manual testing and documenting bugs found.
  • Highly proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Technical expectations: Write SQL statements and interact with databases.


Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in business analysis tools such as Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with process modeling and diagramming tools (e.g., Visio).


Location:

This position is full-time remote. The standard work hours for this position will follow Eastern Standard Time.
