A Brief Overview

The US LBM Finance Project Manager will lead and coordinate projects aimed at enhancing our AP/AR/Accounting shared services model, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and delivering superior financial outcomes. This person has a proven track record of managing complex accounting and operational projects, understanding and leveraging cross-functional relationships, and driving action and accountability across shared services.

What You Will Do

  • Project Management: Lead and manage accounting projects from initiation to completion, including process improvements, system implementations, and shared services enhancements. Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, IT, and operations, to gather requirements, align project goals, and ensure successful implementation of projects. Maintain effective communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor project progress and resolve issues or roadblocks in a timely manner to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for shared services project performance and communicate to leaders as necessary.
  • Compliance and Controls: Ensure that all accounting processes and projects comply with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Training and Development: Provide guidance and training to team members and other stakeholders on project lifecycles, best practices, and technologies to assist with operations.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of experience in finance operations, with at least 5 years of experience managing projects within a shared services environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.

Skills And Abilities

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, shared services operations, and financial systems.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Teams, Visio, etc).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and results-driven. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI highly desired.
