Job Description

About the role 

We are looking for a Microsoft 365 Architect/Manager, with deep knowledge in Microsoft 365, to join our rapidly growing company. This exciting position within our fast-paced, innovative digital team will quickly grow in scope and responsibility.

This role will help shape the direction of our Microsoft 365 and Azure platform evolution, working closely with stakeholders across Sibylline and externally. You will collaborate with teams throughout the company to understand their needs, guide them through change, and inform our progress as we execute our digital transformation strategy.

Additionally, there are opportunities to expand your impact by leading development initiatives on our client platforms and Power Platform solutions. You will also spearhead internal enablement, creating training and resources that allow all employees to fully leverage our systems, grasp their capabilities, and become more productive through their use and establish ongoing adoption and user empowerment.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Execute strategic roadmaps for updating Microsoft 365 cloud tools across the organisation. Identify opportunities to leverage Microsoft 365 to improve business processes and productivity
  • Development: Oversee the successful development of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams and other components. Creating a data lake to help drive internal data and understanding.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security measures to protect data within Microsoft 365. Stay updated on Microsoft 365 security features and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. Compliance standards based on ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials. Utilise MS PowerShell for Microsoft 365 administration and automation, with experience in Microsoft Azure Active Directory management and administration.
  • User Training and Support: Develop training programmes to educate users on Microsoft 365 features and best practices. Provide ongoing support and address user issues related to Microsoft 365 applications in 2nd/3rd line support.
  • Monitoring and Performance Optimisation: Monitor the performance of Microsoft 365 services and proactively address any issues. Optimise configurations for performance, scalability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Licence Management: Manage Microsoft 365 licences to ensure compliance and cost optimisation. Evaluate and recommend changes to licensing based on evolving organisational needs.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster collaboration amongst teams using Microsoft 365 collaboration tools such as Teams, SharePoint and Yammer. Ensure effective communication channels are established and maintained.
  • Integration with Other Systems: Integrate Microsoft 365 with other organisational systems and applications. Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless interoperability.
  • Backup and Recovery: Manage backup solutions for Microsoft 365 data to ensure data integrity and availability. Develop and test recovery procedures to minimise downtime in case of data loss.
  • Patch Management: Stay informed about updates and patches released by Microsoft and manage their timely deployment. Test patches in a controlled environment before rolling them out to the entire organisation.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with Microsoft representatives and other vendors involved in Microsoft 365 services. Stay informed about updates, new features and upcoming changes to Microsoft 365 services.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of Microsoft 365 configurations, policies and procedures. Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly assess the effectiveness of Microsoft 365 implementations and identify areas for improvement. Stay abreast of new Microsoft 365 features and updates to leverage for organisational benefit.

Requirements 

  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance and Identity Fundamentals, or similar certifications preferred
  • In-depth experience configuring, securing and optimising technologies such as Office 365, Intune, Defender and SharePoint.
  • Substantial experience in Microsoft 365 implementations and administration
  • Expert-level knowledge of core Microsoft 365 components
  • Proficiency with MS PowerShell for administration and automation
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Active Directory management
  • Familiarity with Windows 10/11 device support and Intune
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
  • Experience implementing and managing security measures within Microsoft 365
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Experience fostering collaboration and communication among teams using Microsoft 365 tools
  • Proven ability to lead remote IT teams and drive cloud-based digital strategies
  • Self-motivated with analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Microsoft 365 services promptly
  • Proactive approach to staying updated on Microsoft 365 features, updates and industry best practices
  • Adaptability to adapt to changes and willingness to embrace new technologies and methodologies
  • Strong documentation skills to maintain comprehensive records of configurations, policies and procedures
  • Hands-on, can-do attitude and ability to act as deputy to the Head of Technology

Nice to have 

  • Bachelor’s in Information Technology or Computer Science preferred but not essential
