Job description

About the Role

At Movement Labs, we are leading the way in blockchain technology with an open modular framework for building and deploying Move-based infrastructure, applications, and blockchains in any distributed environment. As a Staff Engineer in the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team, your role will be crucial in ensuring the reliability, scalability, observability, and performance of our infrastructure and networks. Additionally, you will serve as an advocate, mentor, and architect in the company, ensuring that SRE has a significant impact on our product engineering efforts.

You Will:
  • Shape the resilience, efficiency, and scalability of our services.

  • Oversee our platforms and ensure that our release processes are running smoothly.

  • Innovate and enhance our infrastructure platform to increase self-service, improve cost optimization, and reduce manual tasks.

  • Champion best practices in site reliability to cultivate a culture of high operational standards.

  • Lead the design, implementation, and operation of highly available and scalable infrastructure for our blockchain platforms.

  • Develop and implement monitoring, alerting, and incident response strategies to proactively identify and address system issues.

  • Continuously improve system reliability through automation and process enhancements.

  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide support for our networks.

You Have:
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience, preferably on a release engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, SRE, or platform team.

  • Experience in driving initiatives to achieve engineering and operational excellence.

  • Ability to manage and deliver multiple streams of initiatives simultaneously.

  • Deep knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure and the cloud-native approach, e.g. Kubernetes, Docker, cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, and tools like Terraform or Ansible.

  • Practical experience in shell scripting and proficiency in at least one higher-level language such as Python, Golang, or a similar language.

  • Experience in implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting, and observability systems.

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to give and receive constructive feedback.

You May Have:
  • Passion for blockchain, Web3, and similar decentralized technologies.

  • Solid understanding of blockchain technology and its underlying infrastructure.

  • Experience operating any infrastructure in the blockchain space.

  • A strong motivation to learn and push yourself. We expect you to continuously seek ways to enhance and automate services to minimize manual efforts.

We offer a competitive salary, token award, and benefits package, as well as the opportunity to work with a talented and passionate team at the forefront of the web3 revolution. If you are a driven, community-focused professional with a passion for blockchain technology, we'd love to hear from you.

To be successful in our mission to create a thriving ecosystem around the Move language and Movement platform, it is essential to build a team enriched with diverse perspectives and experiences. We are committed to being an equal opportunity employer and cherish the diversity within our company. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
