As an Workday Adaptive Planning Consultant (Senior Associate), you will work on a team or independently, helping our customers transform their business planning needs (budgeting, revenue, personnel, KPIs, reporting and analytics) with the Adaptive Planning application.  You will work as part of a Delivery team responsible for implementations of specialist planning tools, for customers of all sizes, across multiple industries.  Some of these customers will be using Adaptive Planning in conjunction with other Workday products (e.g., Financials or HCM); other customers will be using Adaptive Planning standalone. 

You will be expected to:

  • Maintain proficiency and certification in the Adaptive Planning application
  • Contribute to all phases of Adaptive Planning implementation projects, including:
    • Work on project teams led by Engagement Managers
    • Work with customers to understand their current planning process, and take a consultative approach to translating legacy models into Adaptive Planning
    • Participate in facilitated design sessions and configuration decisions based on best practices and an understanding of each customer’s unique business requirements at all stages of the project
    • Contribute to the development and configuration of accurate forecasting and planning models in Adaptive Planning to meet customers’ business needs
    • Document the customer requirements, and the planning models and reporting delivered to customers
    • Ensure rapid time to value through delivering engagements on time and within budget
  • Communicate regularly, concisely, and clearly with customers and internal project teams to set proper expectations and ensure customer success
  • Provide general customer service and assistance to customers and serve as the go-to resource on all project related inquiries
  • Collaborate internally to share learnings and problems solved

Minimum (essential) requirements:

Financial Planning Domain Expertise:  Some exposure (1-2 years) to Financial Planning, either as an internal employee or external consultant; ability to understand business needs associated with technical problems of internal stakeholders or customers. Consulting Skills: Some consulting skills, e.g., presenting, demonstrating and explaining complex functionality, internally or with customers. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in a remote working situation; sound ability to formally present to customer audiences.  Presents thoughts clearly and concisely; effective follow up emails and communications. Organizational/Project Management Skills:  Capable of working within teams and alongside customers, as well as on your individual tasks with limited supervision; able to manage your time effectively and record it accurately.  Ability to work to tight deadlines and make sensible decisions under pressure. Diagnostics: Ability to understand problems presented and to solve those problems with Adaptive Planning modelling.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or Business
  • Excellent MS Excel skills

Desirable:

  • Exposure to the implementation of one Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) system (e.g., Adaptive Planning, Host Analytics/Planful, Anaplan, Oracle Hyperion)
  • Qualified accountant (CPA) with strong industry experience
  • Previous consulting experience
