Nursery Counsellor
Position Summary:
Nursery Counsellors Interact with and supervise all infants and/or toddlers enjoying the nursery; responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Unstructured play time
- Formula feedings
- Diaper changing
- Napping needs
- Being aware of and logging any allergies
- Maintain cleanliness of the nursery during operating hours
- Monitor and manage needs of the nursery infants and/or toddlers.
- Assist with the cleaning and sanitizing of spaces and objects, before, during, and after the facilities open; keep all spaces tidy during operating hours.
- Maintain check-in and check-out logs; potentially learn Nursery reservations system.
- Maintain communication with Parents/Guardians, understanding and assisting with care, special needs and/or concerns.
- Function as a Youth Counselor as necessary.
Key requirements:
Minimum age for all applicants is 21 years.
Must have clear criminal record.
Must not be on any chronic medication and have clear medical history.
Minimum two years recent work experience working with children in a public or private day care or in a recreational or camp setting.
Experience working with a minimum of 3-5 children at one time required: higher volume experience a plus.
Experience working with infants and/or toddlers required.
Schooling in recreation, education, or related field of study preferred.
High energy spirited self-motivated individual with ability to entertain infants and/or toddlers with free play activities.
Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills; detail oriented; customer-service oriented.
Relates well to audiences of all ages and sizes. Strong teamwork skills, detailed, flexible, and committed to guest satisfaction.
Passion for engaging young children.
Must be able to multi-task and demonstrate a sense of urgency when serving guests.
Must be adaptable and flexible in an ever-changing environment.
Experience working with special needs children a plus.
Bilingual or multilingual abilities a plus.
Good comprehension of the importance of following and maintaining health and sanitation guidelines
Strong teamwork skills, organizational skills, and detail oriented.
