Job Description

As a Maintenance Generalist, you will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally across every area of our facility and influence company performance by maintaining our equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Include, but are not limited to the following) 

  • Provide maintenance support with moderate supervision to ensure the safe and effective operation of equipment and team. 

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance repairs on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic plant equipment. 

  • Conduct emergency mechanical or electrical repairs as needed. 

  • Troubleshoot issues related to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment. 

  • Safely apply knowledge and troubleshooting skills to all assigned production equipment. 

  • Effectively interact with all plant personnel to accomplish plant and individual goals. 

  • Minimize downtime due to equipment failure. 

  • Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed. 

  • Must be able and willing to furnish your own tools. 

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Minimum 2 years of mechanic work experience documented in the work history section of the application or be a graduate of and industrial maintenance training program. (Can be a combination of employers as long as experience is at least 2 years).   

SPECIAL SKILLS: 

  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills necessary for logging information, processing daily work orders, and completing required documentation. Ability to learn and utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). 

  • Communication Skills: Effective communication and basic math skills required. 

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. occasionally; ability to lift 20 lbs. frequently. 

  • Ability to stand on a hard surface for up to 12 hours per day. 

  • Ability to work in confined and tall spaces, walk, climb, utilize a ladder, operate a lift, bend, and stoop. 

  • Repetitive gripping, pushing, and pulling. 

  • Frequent overhead work. 

  • Temperatures inside the plant may vary from -25 degrees to over 100 degrees; outside work may also be needed. 

  • Basic math skills, including percentages, fractions, and measurements. 

  • Read and understand blueprints, manuals and work orders. 

Additional Information

You will be required to 10:30 PM to 7:30 AM on a rotating schedule. You will be working a 3 day weekend every 5 weeks. This compensation is determined by our hiring manager based on skill level and experience. There are 8 different pay grades based on skills and always has the ability to increase pay levels.
