Your missions

Job Description

Candidate will collaboratively work with many groups within Brake System organization to deliver the best brake components in different environments and architectures.

Will be responsible to take these components from design to launch. Additionally, will partner with other component teams to package components accordingly.

Candidate will also develop quality documents to support supply base sourcing and management. Will be responsible for quality, cost, weight and functional attributes, kick-off prototype & production tooling. Deliver prototype builds, PPAP & production launch on time with quality.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver brake systems and components.
  • Design and package of components, overall system performance, cost and quality.
  • Lead component and system design and development, validating and signing-off all key brake performance and attribute requirements.
  • Manage supplier delivery and performance.
  • Represent brake engineering to interfacing organizations.
  • Participate supplier sourcing activities.
  • Support production constraints at manufacturing plants and address supplier quality issues.
  • Meet program milestones deliverables and PPAP activities.
  • Deliver cost reduction and quality objectives.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechatronics, mechanical, electronic engineering or similar.
  • Brake engineering experience desire or automotive experience.
  • Advanced English language
  • Material mechanics knowledge
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to lead group projects, issue resolution, and management reviews.
  • Supplier management and cost negotiation.
  • Strong leadership skills – inherent self-starter, self-motivated, with strong drive for results.
  • Project management skills - capable of managing projects by looking both at the big picture objectives and at detail administration to achieve these objectives.
  • Able to work in unfamiliar and unstructured situations and succeed.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CAD (Catia / NX / Team Center).
  • CAE knowledge desired.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in engineering disciplines preferred: DVP&R, DFMEA, Process Controls, Reliability, and System Engineering Fundamentals.
  • Strong sense of urgency.
  • Quality background including experience using problem solving methods like 8Ds, Six Sigma, 5Why.
  • Ability to travel and support Ford Motor Company final assembly plants and supplier sites as required.
