The Assistant Insurance Sales Manager is responsible for leading a team of insurance sales agents, driving sales initiatives, and ensuring operational excellence. This role involves supporting the development and implementation of sales strategies, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to the sales team towards the achievement of sales targets.

What you will do:

  • Monitor and analyze sales data, identify trends, and propose improvements. Provide regular feedback and coaching to team to improve their sales techniques and product knowledge.
  • Advocates and ensures adherence to policies, procedures, and industry standards through call monitoring, and review of new business submissions. Coordinate team schedule and proactively address any gaps in coverage. Manage and approve timesheets and time off requests.
  • Assistant Managers that support Insurance Agents in our branch locations are responsible for regular visits within their region. Partner with branch management to ensure attendance and reliability issues are monitored and addressed.
  • Interview and select qualified candidates for openings on the team. Provide a positive onboarding experience for new hires, including training and technical guidance as needed. Clearly articulate goals and objectives, provide ongoing coaching, and administer performance reviews.
  • Proactively address performance and employee relations issues. Involve additional members of leadership and/or Human Resources as needed. Identify and document areas of improvement and administer performance counseling as required
  • Foster strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, ensuring five diamond customer service. Handle customer escalations and resolve issues to ensure they are totally satisfied. Champion the benefits of a AAA Northeast membership, providing best practices to the team.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, product knowledge, regulatory changes, and insurance carrier products. Ensure all agency processes and procedures are followed in quoting and binding coverage, as well as receipt and processing of all member payments. Partner with Quality Assurance and Underwriting departments to minimize error and omission exposures. In depth knowledge of insurance practices, including the scope of an agent's authority.
  • Provide support to team during off hours as needed.
Qualifications

Education
High School Required Associate's Degree or higher Preferred

Experience

Direct leadership/management experience required OR at least 2 years in preceding job level Required or In preceding job level (internal candidates only) and Insurance sales experience, with a track record of sales success including cross-selling and/or referrals for Life and Commercial Required

Licenses and Certifications

Life License (may vary based on state) within 1 Year Required Valid Insurance designation(s) (AAI, CISR, ACSR, etc.) within 1 Year Required
