Job description

Required U.S. Citizenship / No clearance needed / 100% remote within the US / EST Time Zone

Our client, a leading US based healthcare company is looking for a Senior Kubernetes SME, you will play a significant part in leading the rearchitecting efforts of the existing monolithic system to a Azure cloud-native architecture, leveraging modern cloud technologies and best practices. This will include collaborating with cross-functional teams including software engineers, architects, and product managers to define and implement the applications in Kubernetes cluster. This SME will also drive the adoption of DevOps principles and practices throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring seamless integration and deployment processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and secure applications using Kubernetes (AKS) within Azure.
  • Implement and manage load balancing algorithms to ensure optimal performance and resource utilization.
  • Enforce security best practices for containerized applications and cluster management.
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to automate and replicate environments efficiently.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Kubernetes solutions into broader federal healthcare projects.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance and support for Kubernetes environments, including upgrades and patches.
  • Conduct technology evaluations and provide recommendations for new tools, technologies, and frameworks that can enhance our infrastructure.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Strong Kubernetes(K8S) development experience within large organizations required
  • Kubernetes on Azure cloud environment is high preferred - AKS.
  • 7+ years of experience in rearchitecting large-scale monolithic applications to cloud-native architectures .
  • Load balancing algorithms are must to have.
  • Terraform is must to have.
  • A previous software developer background is preferred.
  • Experience programming C# (.NET) or Java is a plus
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, or a related field.
