We are seeking a Senior Application Analyst Developer to join a development team supporting a federal client with a business and IT modernization project. The Senior Application Analyst Developer will support a technical team in the planning, requirements gathering, design, development, testing and successful implementation of an existing application that requires numerous enhancements. The ideal candidate is an experienced Application Analyst Developer and team player that is passionate about technology and committed to lifelong learning, possessing the ability to apply their technical knowledge, skills, and experience to solve complex/real-world problems. The ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance to support Koniag and our government customer is required. This position is Remote.

This position will involve managing requirements gathering, developing design documentation, managing change requests, sprint planning and management of sprints in progress, developing enhancements, performing and coordinating functional testing and data validation, training material development, and facilitating review and approval of contract deliverables. In this position the candidate will be performing as an application analyst, developer, QC tester, scrum master, and technical writer on the project they are responsible for.

The Senior Application Analyst Developer will have experience in and knowledge of the full software development life cycle using the agile methodology as well as experience with data and process discovery.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Working in a collaborative team environment
  • Working with the project manager to assist with creating and managing project plans and schedules
  • Creating and managing epics, features, user stories, tasks and bug tracking in Azure DevOps
  • Working in collaboration with the Project Manager to ensure Agile processes are being adhered to
  • Facilitating meetings with customer teams to capture and distill existing work processes, enhancement requests down to requirements and design recommendations
  • Performing application and data gap analysis
  • Contribute to application and report designs
  • Documenting end-user software requirements
  • Creating design specifications for applications and reports
  • Working closely with other developers to ensure functional and design requirements are documented in user stories
  • Performing development activities with React, .NetCore, T-SQL, nodejs, javascript, C# as required
  • Performing and coordinating data validation and user acceptance testing
  • General trouble shooting and creative problem solving
  • Facilitating client relations
  • Developing training plans and conducting customer user training
  • Creating test cases and test steps in Azure DevOps Test Plans
  • Managing production deployment activities
  • Creating functional and technical documentation (technical writing)
  • Assisting project manager with driving activities and projects to timely completion

Requirements:

  • Min: 5 years experience in system analyst\business analyst\scrum master roles
  • Min: 7 years experience in software developer role
  • Min: 3 years experience in an SDLC related lead or managerial or project management role
  • Proven command of editorial, grammatical, writing skills and techniques
  • Experience managing competing priorities and multiple deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team
  • The ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance to support Koniag and our government customer is required.

  • Clearly communicating technical/business issues and impact to project management and the customer
  • Willing to regularly remind decision makers of deadlines and decisions that are needed
  • Well-developed organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to organize various technical options into clear and quantifiable business cases for consideration by management
  • General understanding of development platforms, database and data warehouse technologies
  • Experience with T-SQL, SQL Server, React, nodejs, .NetCore, C# and similar tools
  • Experience writing SQL to mine and validate data
  • Experience using TFS or Azure DevOps preferred; or experience with similar IT ALM tools
  • Must be able to exercise initiative and creativity to move projects forward and complete activities

Education:

  • BS degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or similar discipline.

  • Min: 5 years system or business process analysis and user requirement development
  • Min: 5 years experience in systems management lifecycle or Agile methodology
