Senior Data Engineer/Onshore Lead

We are looking for a senior data engineer with solid experience in Databricks who will be responsible for working with stakeholders to gather data requirements, put together pipeline designs, and working with our global team to get the pipelines implemented.  

Core Tech Stack: Databricks, Pyspark, AWS.  

Employment Type:  Full time position with Bridgenext 

Location: Fully Remote, but must be willing to work PST hours  

Key Responsibilities: 

• Technical Design and Oversight: 

• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of big data solutions, ensuring best practices in data management and engineering are followed. 

• Collaborate with the data engineering team to design, develop, and optimize data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses. 

• Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to data engineering team members. 

• Identify and resolve technical and operational issues that arise during the course of projects. 

• Implement strategies to mitigate risks and ensure project success. 

• Project & Stakeholde Management 

• Coordinate and manage data engineering projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with marketing goals and objectives across stakeholders and global team. 

• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and documentation. 

• Stakeholder Management: 

• Communicate effectively with marketing team members, data engineers, and senior management to gather requirements and provide regular updates. 

• Reporting and Documentation: 

• Prepare regular status reports and dashboards for management and stakeholders. 

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of processes, architectures, and workflows. 

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka)

• Databricks experience 

• Experience working in an onshore/offshore model with teams both in North America and India 

• Proven experience in project management and coordination roles

• Strong understanding of data architecture, ETL processes, and data warehousing

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java 

• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data tools

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience in the marketing domain, with an understanding of marketing analytics and data-driven decision-making

• Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
