About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled SQL Developer to help us transform business data. You will work closely with colleagues, curating new and maintaining existing sources of marketing data. You will work on projects that enhance our campaign capabilities and deepen our understanding of customers, while adhering closely to data governance and transparency requirements. We’re looking for someone who has a deep interest in data, enjoys intellectually stimulating projects and has the confidence to work independently. Specific experience with marketing data or publishing data is not essential but is a bonus. Our aim is to make some of the best marketing data assets in the industry, if you’d like to be part of that journey, we’d love to hear from you.

How you will make an impact:

  • Enhancing Marketing Insights: Leverage creative and technical skills to transform business data into valuable marketing assets, thereby enhancing the depth and quality of our marketing insights.
  • Collaborative Data Curation: Collaborate with technical data colleagues to curate and maintain sources of marketing insight and audience lists, ensuring that our data assets are well-managed and up to date.
  • Campaign Capability Enhancement: Contribute to projects aimed at improving our campaign capabilities, enabling more effective and targeted marketing strategies that drive business growth.
  • Data Governance and Transparency: Adhere rigorously to data governance and transparency requirements, ensuring the ethical and compliant use of data while building trust with customers and stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively seek opportunities to innovate and make Wileys marketing data assets among the best in the industry, contributing to the companys ongoing success in the field.

What we look for:

  • Excellent SQL skills: Extensive experience with SQL, understanding of advanced procedures and optimization of queries, experience working with large sets of data within relational databases. (Snowflake/BigQuery/Postgrespreferred)
  • Experience with Marketing: Experience working with marketing data use cases. Specifically, around audience creation, user data augmentation and advanced reporting.
  • Strong Commercial Mindset: An ability to identify quickly the commercial value in data, experience of having delivered return on time investment through development of data assets at scale.
  • Tailored Communication: Able to collaborate and share ideas with non-technical colleagues, explaining complex solutions in as simple as possible way to ensure collective understanding.
