Job Summary

Manages, directs, and oversees product management operations for the Collision Repair Network (CRN) team. Builds and manages the product roadmap that addresses market needs and opportunities to support OEC’s goals and strategies. Manages senior and mid-level product professionals, and coaches the team for continual success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages and leads the CRN Product Team. Sets individual team goals and expectations. Provides ongoing coaching and feedback, completes formal assessments on performance, and addresses and documents performance issues as appropriate. Ensures clarity on priorities and timelines and that work activities are aligned with strategic goals communicated by senior leadership. Helps team members with solving for complex and/or escalated issues, and removes roadblocks as needed.
  • Promotes individual and team learning and growth and supports the upward mobility of team members.
  • Analyzes market data and works with third parties and customers, including national accounts, to identify needs and define new product opportunities. Maintains detailed knowledge of market conditions, competing products, and customers.
  • Defines the product roadmap, manages budget, success criteria, adhering to the Product Lifecycle, and sets expectations with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Builds CRN-related product line strategy and execution plan to deliver on financial and customer commitments, collaborating cross-functionally at all levels of the organization, to include product development, marketing, and sales.
  • Designs product packaging, pricing, and name to distinguish product line(s) from other OEC products in line with the product’s value proposition.
  • Creates and delivers presentations at speaking engagements to drive customer awareness of product capabilities and new customer initiatives.
  • Develops and manages relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), third parties, and other external industry professionals, and is seen as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for the product line(s).
  • Maintains a solid understanding of the competitive landscape, OEC solutions and strategy, and customer needs; develops product line strategy based on those dynamics.
  • Assumes profit & loss responsibility, including effective management of investment agenda and return of investment.
  • Recruits, hires, and onboards new team members. Ensures newly hired employees have the tools, knowledge and information needed to be successful at OEC.
  • Partners with department leadership in managing the department budget(s). Develops budget recommendations and proposals. Participates in forecasting and budgeting activities.

Education

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required, with a focus in marketing, product management, business or related discipline. In the absence of a degree, equivalent work experience directly related to the key responsibilities of the role will be considered as a substitute for the degree.

Experience

At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in a product development environment managing large scale projects and implementations, product roadmap definition and execution, as well as service-offering execution and change management experience. Knowledge of Agile frameworks, plus at least 3 years of prior management experience with responsibility for leading a team of direct reports is also required. Experience within the Automotive Collision industry coupled with Software as a Service (SaaS) experience is highly desired.

  • Strong business acumen with a future-oriented perspective to ensure the department is positioned for ongoing success.
  • Excellent communication skills and can tailor messaging to a specific audience or call to action.
  • Ability to manage and lead at a tactical level with direct reports, and a strategic level with OEC leadership.
  • Sound business judgement and strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to generate creative and resourceful solutions to solve complex/global business challenges.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work and can support direct reports with adjusting to shifts in priorities as the needs of the business change.
  • A proactive and results-oriented leadership approach, and able to drive strong business results through delegation and the efforts of the team.

Travel

  • Travel for this position is occasionally required to visit customers and attend industry-related events and is anticipated to be approximately 10-20% of the time.
