Sr Manager, Commodity Procurement

Organizational Requirements

Lead and facilitate cost savings projects in partnership with platform and cross-functional stakeholders. drive value from leveraged sourcing across Revlon’s corporate and operational indirect spend, and to increase profits by capturing improvement opportunities. The Sr. Director is responsible for: functional leadership and portfolio planning; stewardship and deployment of the company’s strategic sourcing process; identifying and executing process improvement initiatives; and, ensuring excellence in category management for the company’s core spend items.   • Lead Commodity Risk Management process including developing risk assessment models and strategies to proactively manage commodity price fluctuations and minimize organization impact.
  • Manage international/cross-border supply chain and the logistics of sourcing materials and services from outside the domestic US/CAD
  • Monitor and analyze global and regional commodity markets to identify potential risks and opportunities. Assess the impact of market volatility, geopolitical events, supply chain disruptions, and other factors on commodity prices and supply availability.
  • Generate regular reports and dashboards to communicate commodity risk exposure, procurement performance, and mitigation efforts to senior/executive management.
  • Lead bi-weekly Commodity Risk Management review meeting with CFO, Commercial and Finance leads to align on a team-based sourcing plan.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, including hedging, forward contracts, and supply chain diversification, to protect the organization from adverse commodity price movements.
  • Collaborate with internal executive stakeholders and suppliers to align risk mitigation strategies with procurement goals and business objectives.
  • Foster effective communication with suppliers to build strong, collaborative relationships.
  • Lead corporate & regional projects through strategic procurement planning and implementation. Represent the company in dealings with suppliers, trading partners and customers.
  • Partner with Finance and CI functions to develop annual operating plan and cost savings pipeline; actively track performance and develop action plans to achieve financial targets.
  • Lead procurement team to effectively manage $200+ millions of overall category spend. Articulate and execute Hearthside Procurement roadmap that builds the capabilities needed for long-term growth and sustainability including spend analytics, category management, standardized sourcing process, tools and templates, policies and procedures and supplier relationship management.
  • Develop a high-performing and motivated strategic procurement team responsible for interacting with business and supplier partners

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate procurement strategy and business objective alignment with other internal departments, including Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, R&D, Finance, Regulatory and QA
  • Follow market trends for various categories of spend. Use this knowledge to support internal customers. Evaluate financial aspects of key cost drivers of global markets using published industry data and reports. Collect historical data to support cost trend requests.
  • Develop business case to proactively drive stakeholder alignment and ensure effective communications with all internal partners.
  • Implement strategic sourcing activities such as electronic Request for Information, Request for Quotation, Request for Proposal, select supplier based on predetermined criteria
  • Be committed to cost control and cost reductions for the company while at the same time maintaining continuous supply of goods and services. Introduce new and innovative ideas for procurement of goods and services.
  • Develop and implement solutions to develop talent and expertise and build procurement capabilities within the entire category.
  • Ownership of annual budget and standard cost development
  • Identify additional sources of supply and develop relationships with supplier partners
  • Actively develop and manage vendor performance using KPI’s and scorecard development, business reviews, and effective contract/dispute management process.

People Management:

  • Build and lead a high-performing procurement team, providing coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • Set clear performance expectations and key performance indicators (KPIs) for procurement staff, regularly reviewing and evaluating their performance.
  • Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and mentor the procurement team, providing guidance and support to achieve department goals
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws, regulations, and company policies within the procurement team.
  • Lead talent acquisition efforts, including recruitment, onboarding, and talent retention strategies.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s degree or MBA preferred) in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, or Accounting preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 7+ years in procurement/strategic sourcing role with increasing responsibilities and leadership experience
  • Proven organizational communication, problem solving, and research abilities
  • Demonstrated excellence in managing internal customers; regularly communicates with stakeholders for alignment; Demonstrated excellence in managing internal customers; regularly communicates with stakeholders for alignment;Manage change through influence and proactive stakeholder management process; capable of driving major commercial decisions across a diverse set of internal stakeholders; demonstrated excellence in managing internal customers and regularly communicates with stakeholders for alignment

  • Ability to quickly gather and analyze data, and business requirements under time constraints in a changing environment
  • Knowledge of contract fundamentals, ability to effectively understand and negotiate contract terms that benefit Hearthside in outcome
  • Broad knowledge and execution of negotiation strategy, macroeconomics, inventory control and manufacturing processes.
  • Proven negotiating skills for quality improvement and cost savings initiatives with suppliers
  • Proficient in English (written and verbal)
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and prior experience with SAP, BW and Spend Analytics Solutions preferred
  • Ability to identify processes needing improvement, and to recommend improvements
  • Ability to work effectively at the executive level internally and with supplier partners
