In this position...

As an experienced Program / Project Engineer you will be supporting the installation and launch of greenfield Battery Cell Manufacturing facilities in multiple US Locations. The Role requires a self-guided and motivated individual that can delivery results in large scale projects within urgent timing constraints.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

  • Represent Battery Manufacturing Engineering (BME) at program meetings
  • If supporting off-shift or weekend work, act as Ford BME designated person to direct Contractors and Support Personnel to deliver Program Objectives
  • Track new program equipment (vendor runoff thru in-plant capability)
  • Maintain Launch Quality Operating System (LQOS) charts
  • Facilitate / Coordinate weekly Purchase Order / Advance Purchasing Notification / Change Request Meeting Agendas and Reports
  • Actively participate in the meetings led by Process Engineers and Building & Facilities Team to discuss layout until reaching layout freeze
  • Update Program Reporting Systems (OPIC, 15 panel, 10 Panel, Integrator, etc.)
  • Develop & maintain program master schedules
  • Analyze schedules identifying shortfalls, program content and timing changes
  • Facilitate resolution of timing issues and Issue Escalation Processes
  • Coordinate recovery actions for timing scenarios
  • Lead / assist in updating / publishing various program review decks & web databases
  • Receive, evaluate & write Work Order requests (WOW) & track status
  • Receive, evaluate & process (Worldwide Engineering Release System) WERS notifications, route to appropriate WERS Contacts and track status
  • Program Change management coordinator for each program and liaison with the BME Coordinator.
  • Develop and coordinate updates to program Indicated cost tracking documents.
  • Maintain program’s checkbook as well as coordinate initial program funding with the financial analyst. Serve as main contact for program’s checkbook
  • Drive documentation updates and maintain Program SharePoint
  • Provide process confirmation for the application of the BME Quality Operating System (QOS)
  • Assist with the procurement of MTO parts, when necessary
  • Assist with the Spare Parts process as required
  • Coordinate Internal/External Quality Audit process
  • Liaise with Mfg. Quality Office to coordinate Launch Readiness Coaching Assessment events


Qualifications

You'll have...

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (or equivalent BS Engineering Degree with focus on construction and building infrastructure),
  • Minimum 5 Years of experience as a Project Engineer / Project Manager working on construction and/or installation projects
  • Demonstrated success coordinating cross-functional resources in complicated projects
  • Demonstrated success in delivering cost savings in Facility Construction


Even better, you may have...

  • Master of Science in Construction Management (or equivalent MS Degree with focus on Large Project / Program Management)
  • Battery Cell Manufacturing facility construction experience preferred
  • Program Management Software certification (P6 and/or Microsoft Project) preferred
  • Cost estimation experience preferred
  • Value Engineering experience preferred
  • Experience with Site Construction Safety preferred


Geographical Location(s) / Travel Requirements / Overtime / Weekends / Off Shift Support:

  • Position requires the ability to support extended travel to US Battery Cell Manufacturing Locations in Michigan, Kentucky and Tennessee
  • The Role requires the ability to work daily overtime and weekends (including Saturday and/or Sunday) and off-shift support as required
  • Return travel to Personal Home location every other weekend (or special occasions with advance planning) will be included in travel planning
  • Organization Home Location for BME is Dearborn, Michigan
  • Immediate work assignment location will require extended travel to Stanton, TN through 2Q 2025
  • Follow-on assignment(s) could be based in Michigan or Kentucky
