Financial Reporting & Data Analytics/Automation Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled professional with a strong analytical mindset and the ability to self-serve on all reporting needs. This role is critical for ensuring that our financial reporting is accurate, timely, and insightful. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data analysis, reporting tools, and advanced spreadsheet functions, with the capability to move seamlessly from raw data to finished reports. You will be responsible for identifying the data required, conceptualizing reporting solutions, and leveraging various tools to create comprehensive reports.

Requirements

Data Identification & Acquisition:

• Identify Necessary Data: Determine the specific data needed to build comprehensive financial and operational reports.
• Self-Service Data Acquisition: Independently acquire data from various sources, including Shopify apps, BigQuery, and Shopify Analytics.
• Data Integration: Ensure seamless integration of data from multiple sources into Google Sheets for reporting purposes.

Report Development & Conceptualization:

• Conceptualize Reporting Solutions: Design and conceptualize complex reports, moving from raw data to finished reports with minimal guidance.
• Advanced Formula Creation: Develop and optimize complex formulas that combine multiple functions to streamline and enhance reporting.
• Custom Report Building: Utilize tools to create custom reports that meet specific business needs.
• Automation: Implement automated processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) to improve efficiency.

Process Improvement & Optimization:

• Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluate and improve reporting processes to increase accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness.
• Problem-Solving: Address and resolve issues related to data acquisition, report creation, and automation independently.
• Reporting Innovation: Stay up-to-date with new tools, technologies, and best practices to enhance reporting capabilities.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to understand reporting needs and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Stakeholder Communication: Clearly communicate report findings, methodologies, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in financial reporting and data analysis, with a focus on e-commerce platforms like Shopify.
• Advanced Proficiency in Google Sheets: Expertise in functions such as QUERY(), ARRAYFORMULA(), IMPORTRANGE(), REGEXMATCH(), REGEXREPLACE(), FILTER(), COUNTIF(), VLOOKUP(), XLOOKUP(), INDEX()+MATCH(), LET(), and MAP() + LAMBDA().
• Experience with Shopify Reporting Tools like Report Pundit and Matrixify for flexible, automated reporting.

• Ability to pull data from BigQuery into Google Sheets for custom reporting needs.

• Familiarity with ETL tools like Parabola.io or Make.com for automating data workflows.
• Ability to self-serve in acquiring and analyzing data, with minimal oversight.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to conceptualize and implement complex reporting solutions.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, accurate reports.
