Liquibase is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) who will work directly on a greenfield SaaS platform and will report to the Manager of DevOps. Your primary efforts will be in building, securing, and maintaining a multi-tenant SaaS application leveraging AWS services. What you’ll be doing:

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient infrastructure for our SaaS platform using AWS services such as API Gateway, Lambda, RDS, OpenSearch, and Secrets Manager
  • Ensure the security of the application using AWS security services such as WAF, Shield, and GuardDuty
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure the reliability and performance of our SaaS platform
  • Utilize tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar to monitor application and infrastructure health
  • Proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they impact users
  • Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform
  • Provide input and expertise for system architecture and feature development
  • Help diagnose and resolve production incidents expeditiously
  • Collaborate with our Product, Development & QA teams to ensure work is properly defined, documented, prioritized and executed
  • Engage with stakeholders outside of Product and Engineering (such as Customer Success, Support, and others) to accurately represent ongoing work and collaborate effectively on improvements and future initiatives
  • Participate in the Agile Development lifecycle helping us to stay realistic on our goals and flexible in our execution
  • Foster a culture of group collaboration while being effective at working independently at the same time

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • AWS Solutions Architect and/or AWS DevOps Professional Certifications
  • A self-starter with strong communication skills, written and verbal, and prior experience thriving in a distributed work environment
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in site reliability engineering or DevOps roles
  • Expertise in AWS services, including API Gateway, Lambda, RDS, OpenSearch, and Secrets Manager
  • Expertise in AWS security services, including WAF, Shield, and GuardDuty
  • Strong experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar
  • Proven ability to design and implement effective monitoring strategies to ensure system reliability and performance
  • Extensive experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code
  • Experience building, securing, and maintaining a multi-tenant SaaS application
  • Experience with IDPs such as FusionAuth, Okta, Auth0, or similar
  • Strong understanding of information security principles and practices

Nice to Haves:

  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or similar
  • Experience with other cloud providers such as Azure and GCP
  • Experience with Docker and container orchestration
  • Prior startup experience, especially launching applications with customer adoption and usage
