Security Researcher - Web3 / Cybersecurity

We are currently working with several Web3 teams who are looking / planning to hire in 2024 - Currently we are seeking anyone with a Security research background with experience or strong project work in Web3 / Crypto.

The Role
We are hiring a highly innovative Security Researcher to contribute to the challenging greenfield project with excellent knowledge of smart contract security.

As our Security hire, you will work closely with the research driven CEO and extend the technicality of the company's algorithms and architecture with your security expertise. Your responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive security reviews and research with an innovative mindset, identifying vulnerabilities from an offensive perspective, and pushing the boundaries of security beyond traditional audits.

In this role you will:

• Conduct in-depth security reviews: Perform thorough assessments of systems, procedures, and protocols within the web3 ecosystem to identify vulnerabilities, potential attack vectors, and areas for improvement.
• Innovative problem-solving: Utilize technical expertise and creativity to proactively search for novel attack vectors and stay at the forefront of advancing web3 security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with developers, engineers, and stakeholders to address security concerns, provide recommendations, and ensure the implementation of security best practices.
• Stay updated with industry trends: Continuously monitor the evolving threat landscape, security trends, and emerging technologies to anticipate potential risks and develop effective countermeasures.
• Documentation and reporting: Prepare detailed security reports, outlining identified vulnerabilities, proposed solutions, and actionable recommendations for stakeholders and clients.

You might thrive in this role if you have:

• Proven experience as a Security Researcher, conducting security assessments, vulnerability research, or similar roles within the web3 or cybersecurity domain.
• Strong knowledge of blockchain technology, smart contracts, decentralized applications (dApps), and other web3 protocols.
• Familiarity with common vulnerabilities and innovative attack vectors in web3 environments.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and outside the box.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, effectively conveying complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and emerging trends in web3 security.
• Willingness and experience to adopt and innovate new methodologies for automated auditing, staying updated with the latest industry practices and techniques to enhance the effectiveness of security reviews.
• Familiarity with Capture the Flag (CTF) competitions and experience participating in auditing contests to demonstrate proficiency in identifying vulnerabilities and assessing security measures.
• Certifications such as Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or similar credentials are a plus.
