Job Description

Homebrew is looking for a Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps Engineer who can help run Jan on a wide variety of consumer-grade hardware to server-grade hardware.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Cloud Infrastructure Management:
    • Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, and networking resources
    • Automate the provisioning and configuration of cloud resources using infrastructure as code (IaC) tools
    • Perform regular maintenance, updates, and optimization of the cloud environment
    • Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of the cloud infrastructure
  2. DevOps Implementation:
    • Collaborate with the development team to implement DevOps workflows and best practices
    • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate the software build, test, and deployment processes
    • Analyze system metrics and logs to proactively identify and address performance issues
    • Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure the health and stability of the cloud environment
  3. Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify and implement process optimizations and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and DevOps tools, and recommend relevant solutions
    • Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures and best practices for the team
    • Mentor and train junior team members on cloud infrastructure management and DevOps practices
  4. Incident Response and Troubleshooting:
    • Provide 24/7 on-call support and promptly address critical incidents
    • Analyze and resolve complex issues related to cloud infrastructure, applications, and systems
    • Document and share knowledge to improve the team's troubleshooting capabilities

 

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure management and DevOps
  • Proficiency in one or more public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Strong programming and scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell)
  • Hands-on experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Understanding of CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions)
  • Familiarity with monitoring and log management solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer, GCP Certified Professional Cloud Architect) are a plus
