Assistant Manager Business Development Opportunity 
  • job location CMB (HO)
  • working hours 8AM 5PM (onsite), SAT 9AM 1 PM (remote working unless requested to be present at office)
  • working days MON-FRI, SAT 1/2 day

Requirements:

  • A diploma or degree related to Transport or Logistics & Supply Chain Management with 5+ years experience in the freight forwarding and logistics industry with similar experience in a business development or a sales position with an existing customer base
  • Good presentation skills, communication skills, and negotiation skills in both Sinhala and English
  • A strong understanding of logistics operations and the freight industry, products, and services
  • A proven track record of success in business development or a sales role within the freight forwarding industry
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office, MS Word, MS PowerPoint will be an added advantage

Responsibilities

  • Achieving and exceeding the gross profit target on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis
  • Building and maintaining a strong sales pipeline through lead generation, prospects, and networking efforts
  • Resolving any issues faced by clients and being a median between your customer and the internal teams
  • Monitoring and collecting accounts receivables based on the company guidelines New account acquisitions i.e., both local and international
  • Negotiating competitive rates with FCL/LCL and transport service providers and carriers
  • Managing and maximizing profits of individual and assigned accounts
  • Coordinating with overseas agents and ensuring smooth operation of export procedures
  • Developing and managing relationships with key customer accounts and carriers
  • Handling Air freight shipments i.e., freight rate negotiations and monitoring operations
  • Resolving contractual and commercial disputes
  • Supporting the business development team
  • Monitoring monthly check lists of the department
