Role Summary

Are you passionate about developing scalable, modern applications with client focused, modern architectures? AT GFT you will work with leading experts in emerging technologies in an agile, international environment to deliver innovative, best-in-class solutions for our banking and insurance clients. GFT Switzerland are looking for an experienced Java engineer, ideally full stack but applications from frontend or backend engineers are also welcome

Role Responsibilities:

• Support the technical design, solution design, development and continued optimisation of innovative solutions for our clients.
• Work in an agile way, with the latest technologies, leveraging GFTs international pool of experts.
• Leadership of technical teams (depending on experience).
• Contribute to the development of state-of-the-art web-based solutions to implement service-oriented architectures.
• Ensures the functionality of software, identifying opportunities for improvement, automation and streamlining of technological processes and systems.
• Maintenance and continued development and enhancement of existing systems and applications to ensure they continue to meet our clients’ needs.

Your Skills and Competencies:

• Degree or similar qualification, ideally in software engineering, or a similar field.
• 8+ years of relevant work experience within financial services.
• Experience of application development in Financial Services using Java, Spring Boot, REST services etc. (for full stack or Backend developer) or Java React, Angular etc. (for full stack or Front-end specialists).
• Experience with cloud platforms would be beneficial.
• Experience of database design, object-oriented application development with Java EE, interfaces and web services design and development of appealing web GUIs.
• Practical experience in the installation and operation of Java EE web applications on Windows and Linux platforms and related databases.
• Fluency in both German and English is required, French and other languages would be an advantage.
• EU/Swiss citizen or valid Swiss work permit.
