Django Engineer

Overview

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Python code
• Design, develop, and maintain complex web applications using Django framework
• Implement data security and protection measures
• Create and maintain APIs for front-end integration and mobile app support
• Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues
• Conduct code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting
• Optimize application processes for maximum speed and scalability
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server side logic
• Implement automated testing platforms and unit tests
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies
• Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging
• Monitor application performance, troubleshoot and improve it
• Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review
• Contribute to software architecture and design decisions

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Proven experience as a Django web developer or similar role
• Strong understanding of Django ORM, Django templates, and class based views
• Proficient in Python, with a good knowledge of its ecosystems
• Experience in database management and optimization with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
• Experience with software design and design patterns
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Knowledge of web servers and experience in server management
• Understanding of security principles and SSL certificates
• Experience in REST API design, implementation, and consumption
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and efficiency
