Objectives of this Role
A QA team lead is the person in charge of the quality assurance team, and he is responsible for assessing services and products to ensure that quality standards are met. The quality assurance team lead develops, implements and manages test plans. This position is typically offered full time and reports to Quality Manager. Those well-suited to this career enjoy problem-solving and working collaboratively with others.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
Leading a team, working closely with other leaders and several non-direct reports to establish best practice initiatives.
Developing and implementing quality standards, auditing functionality, establishing frameworks and templates, monitoring outcomes against agreed success measures and providing detailed reports.
Identifying areas for business improvement, developing and implementing plans to support positive solutions for the business and our customers.
Representing and providing advice and communication to internal and external stakeholders
Coordinating a range of working groups and consultations to facilitate the exchange of information to support and implement a harmonised/standardised approach to meet business objectives.
Work with Team Members: work collaboratively with QC, development, and business groups to complete testing.
Participating in full life cycle development.
Performing business requirements review and verification.
Problem Solving.
Conduct UAT.
Mentors and trains junior, Mid and/or senior quality control engineers on policies and procedures and create tasks for them.
Identifies the root cause of quality problems, and coordinates modifications or other corrective actions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Architecting new automated test strategies and frameworks, in addition to creating, implementing and automating testing in support of software test requirements.
Develop, maintain, and enhance the test automation framework and automation infrastructure
execute and report on planned tests, report and manage defects, regress software fixes for new and existing products
Assist development with replicating and debugging problems and develop new test automation solutions as needed.
Demonstrates innovation, leadership, and mentorship skills in addition to possessing a strong technical and programming/test automation skill set.
May assist with performance evaluations
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or information technology, or equivalent education and work experience.
Professional certification, such as ISTQB-CTFL ISTQB-CTAL
Problem-solving skills - QC testers have strong problem-solving skills that allow them to test software, identify bugs, and solve errors
A strong ability to influence and negotiate, productive discussions to achieve effective solutions, building positive relationships across a range of regulatory functions
Familiarity with testing - QC testers are knowledgeable of testing phases and approaches, including functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end
Teamwork - working with other groups, QC testers have strong communication skills that allow them to collaborate with others. They communicate problems and coordinate with QC, development, and business groups to ensure products are free of errors
Able to multi-task, triage issues, react well to changes, work independently or in a team setting in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent command of written and spoken English.
