Zurich Resilience Solutions (ZRS) provides risk consulting services that help companies protect their people, property, operations and other assets. Specifically, our Climate Resilience services provide valuable insights and mitigation strategies for risks related to natural hazards and climate change.
In this role, you will lead a small team and manage Climate Resilience operations including conducting assessments, training and coaching team members, managing customer assignments, and ensuring quality service and deliverables. This involves close collaboration with ZRS Global Climate Resilience Hub specialists and team members.
Role Responsibilities:
- Manage a small team of Climate consultants, including organizing desktop and on-site assessments, training and coaching team members, and ensuring quality deliverables based on ZRS standards.
- Support customer acquisition and proposition development including identifying potential targets/sectors and engaging in discussions around natural hazards and climate change services.
- Conduct Natural Hazards and Climate Change site assessments (e.g., value and supply chain analyses, multi-location natural hazard analyses, catastrophe models, loss scenarios and estimates, data analysis) at multi- and single-location levels to provide mitigation and adaptation strategies.
- Collaborate with ZNA and ZRS teams including leaders, risk engineers and underwriters, to develop a community of specialists to strengthen ZNA’s Climate Resilience capability.
- Ensure the overall delivery and quality of services to customers and business partners in their geographic area.
- Conduct opportunity spotting and cross selling with customers and business partners and therefore contribute strongly to the business operating profit.
- Manage relationship with key Risk Engineering customers.
- Control the technical quality and professional standards of the risk engineering function to deliver a consistently high-quality service to customers.
- Lead the implementation of initiatives to improve processes, develop policies and generate innovation in the risk engineering field.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area OR
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Risk Engineering area
Preferred Qualifications:
- An understanding of climate change science and its practical application.
- Masters degree in an engineering or natural sciences discipline (preferably civil engineering) + 5 years practical experience in natural hazards and climate change.
- People management experience
- Insurance industry certification
Compensation for roles at Zurich varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education. The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. The starting salary range for this position is $127,400.00 - $208,600.00.
