Job Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead design activities for major transmission line projects by collaborating with internal resources, managing external engineering consultants, and interfacing with various stakeholders.
- Planning Expertise: Lead planning of project design activities, including engineering scope, budget, and schedule.
- Technical Oversight: Review detailed design submittals and studies, ensuring compliance with technical standards, permitting requirements, and project needs.
- Engineering Management: Manage transmission structure engineering, testing, geotechnical investigations, and designs for encroachments and utility crossing agreements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with landowners, community members, and stakeholders to convey technical aspects of projects.
- Continuous Improvement: Propose and implement lessons learned to support continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Qualification Support: Provide technical support for project permitting submittals and due diligence activities.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay informed about technical capabilities and advances in HVDC and transmission, sharing knowledge across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil, electrical, mechanical, or environmental) from an ABET-accredited program.
- Experience: 5+ years managing transmission line engineering design, with knowledge of overall design and construction processes for major energy projects.
- Passion for Learning: Strong ambition to learn the cutting edge of the power industry and transmission development.
- Collaborative Spirit: A passion for collaborative, team-based work with a hands-on, entrepreneurial approach.
- Independence: Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, building relationships with professionals from different disciplines.

- Adaptability: Adaptability and flexibility to manage deadline pressure, uncertainty, and project changes.
- Work Ethic: Hard work ethic, persistence, and the ability to quickly grasp and understand new concepts.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, including conveying technical information to various stakeholders.
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products (Excel, PowerPoint), ArcGIS (preferred), and PLS-CADD (preferred).
