JOB TITLE: Vice President, Process Improvement and Data Strategy

REPORTS TO: Senior Vice President, EHR Integrated Solutions

DEPARTMENT(S): Implementation and Account Analytics | EHR, TPA and Analytics & Informatics

FLSA: Exempt

JOB OBJECTIVE: The Vice President (VP) of Data Strategy and Process Improvement is charged with the overall responsibility for our data foundation and supporting processes for EHR and TPA Integrated Solutions. This leader is responsible for product management specific to Informatics, data methodologies for advanced payment model adoption, data processing and quality control, system and client process improvement and reporting. The position leads developing and refining Analytics & Informatics, refining implementation processes for customers receiving the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Third-party Administrator (TPA) and delivering maximum value to both clients and internal customers.

Essential Job Functions

  • As a member of the EHR Integrated Solutions leadership team the VP develops and drives implementation of the EHR & TPA to include Account Analytics (AA) and data strategy of products to customers.
  • Balance business timelines, customer deployments, program compliance, documentation requirements, clinical workflows, Encounter Based Reporting (EDS) and data management strategies.
  • Enhances strategic decision making through the enablement of data assets for EHR & TPA customers.
  • Take ownership of advanced reporting requirements to include, creating Vision & Strategy from the business customer and putting this at the forefront for the agile teams and all stakeholders.
  • Partners with technology and business leaders to leverage data to drive revenue generation and cost savings, while ensuring regulatory compliance and effective risk management.
  • Drives capabilities from inception to adoption related to CMS, Payer, and or other governing entities.
  • Leads team members in monitoring, measuring, and driving compliance with data governance, data quality and data sourcing policies, and ensuring progress is made against the strategic roadmap.
  • Leads team members in the delivery of value-added solutions and the implementation of best practices.
  • With the leadership team, works to develop, implement and champion evolving data capabilities.
  • Serves as a thought leader, drives the use of data-driven approaches, and seeks to expand the range of fields in which data insight adds value to decision making.
  • Manages all aspects of EHR & TPA adoption through dedicated training team and LMS.
  • Ensure client retention through Net Promotor Score (NPS) based on deployment and adoption strategies.
  • Fosters interoperability spanning administrative, clinical, claims, and regulatory among product and teams.
  • Supports leadership with new initiatives that protect, grow, or build market share.
  • Ensures product readiness, manages deployment attributes and overall functioning of the product to exceed client expectations and support our clients journey to provide exceptional care for patients.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with increasing responsibilities for management and support of healthcare information products and services which may include Electronic Health Record, Revenue Cycle, Third-party Administrator, or combination thereof.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in clinical documentation requirements; in addition to reimbursement systems through claim-level adjudication.
  • Direct management of e-Health products with P&L and/or budget oversight is preferred.
  • Significant experience with Advanced Payment Models to include - CMS Programs, Medicare Advantage, Risk-based or Value-based Care and Reimbursement Models.
  • Significant experience working with and leading software systems implementations with a high data output.
  • Highly skilled in written and verbal communication, especially in complex and high-pressure environments, including experience interacting with C-level executives.
  • Experience and passion for business excellence and continuous process improvement.
  • Ability to analyze healthcare functions and refine to optimize work efficiency of customers and colleagues.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, clinical healthcare, computer science, informatics, engineering, or similar field of study, or 10+ years of related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Master’s degree in business, healthcare, informatics, and or similar technical field of study preferred.

Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience with increasing responsibilities for management and support of healthcare information systems and/or products.
  • A minimum of 10 years direct management of a major healthcare technology and or service.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a healthcare setting is desirable, specifically in technology and information systems planning to support business goals.
  • A minimum of 10 years combined experience with practice management, financial management and clinical management information systems (EHR/EMR) is a plus.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience implementation and account management.
  • A minimum of 8 years managing cloud technologies and cloud related solutions.

Technical Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a mature Software Development Life Cycle
  • Working knowledge of clinical documentation, revenue integrity, and service/ code capture.
  • Working knowledge of design and development process, including requirements/validation, feasibility, pilot, installation, evaluation and operational management.

OTHER SKILLS And ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of various Process Improvement programs such as Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, etc.
  • General knowledge of business processes and their interrelationship gained through 10 or more years of related experience.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, both logical and interpersonal.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills and effective presentation skills, all geared toward coordination and education.
  • Ability to drive business process analysis and redesign.
  • Demonstrated ability to set, drive and manage priorities.
