JOB TITLE: Architect, Solutions Engineering

REPORTS TO: Leadership as assigned.

DEPARTMENT(S): Software Product Engineering

FLSA: Exempt

JOB OBJECTIVE: The solutions architect will strive to provide our customers with the highest level of service and technological excellence. They will work with the business development teams, account management, enterprise solutions and technology teams to ensure we have optimized IT infrastructure and software solutions. Their skillset will include the ability to identify pain points and design or modify technical solutions to solve client and patient problems. This position involves leading change and will be deeply involved in daily work across all business units, regularly interacting with both stakeholders and subject matter experts.

Essential Job Functions

  • Work with internal and external clients to define and document overall solution needs.
  • Capacity to streamline workflows by implementing inventive technical solutions.
  • Evaluate existing and emerging technologies on a regular basis.
  • In collaboration with enterprise architecture and team leads, define and document overall solution architecture.
  • Ensure that the solution has specific performance, scalability, and security requirements and these requirements have been met.
  • Contribute to strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of the information and technology systems for the Enterprise.
  • Facilitates communication between staff, management, vendors, and other technology resources within the organization.
  • Provide technical domain guidance and support to development teams.
  • Actively identify and mitigate any potential risks or issues related to roles solution domain.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the solution set and its components

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with increasing responsibilities with solutions that support healthcare information systems and information technology.
  • Significant experience in a healthcare setting is desirable, specifically in technology and information systems planning to support business goals.
  • Strong knowledge across a variety of technologies, platforms, and architectural patterns
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with requirements and project management methodologies and tools.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, similar technical field of study, or 10+ years of related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Master’s degree in computer science, similar technical field of study preferred.

Experience

  • A minimum of 6 years experiencing working on software solutions, data and analytics
  • A minimum of 4 years of hands-on technical experience with networks, systems and IT operations.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a healthcare setting is desirable, specifically in technology and information systems planning to support business goals.

Technical Experience

  • Strong knowledge of various technologies, platforms, and architectural patterns: A solution architect must be well-versed in various technologies and platforms to design effective solutions that meet business needs.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills: Solution architects must be able to analyze complex business requirements and identify the most suitable technology solutions to address them.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to a mature Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Working knowledge of contemporary methods and procedures of development of computer software systems and comprehending complex, technical subjects.
  • Working knowledge of systems design and development process, including requirements analysis, feasibility studies, software design, programming, pilot testing, installation, evaluation and operational management.
  • Proven competency in translating technical language to lay audiences and related presentations to client base.

OTHER SKILLS And ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of various office productivity software programs such as word processing, databases, spreadsheet programs, and communications software.
  • General knowledge of business processes and their interrelationship gained through 10 or more years of related experience.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, both logical and interpersonal.
  • Ability to negotiate and defuse conflict.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Expected Hours of Work: Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
