Job description

Our client is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Birmingham, this is a full time permanent role. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance and benefits package.

This role is to work as part of the refurbishment team on social housing carrying out external works, EWI, kitchens & bathrooms, voids and structural alterations. You will be responsible for leading on a major framework with a team of quantity surveyors under you.

This is a great development opportunity for someone who is keen to progress, as the client is looking for someone to come in and lead on the projects really making them their own.

The role will be based either from one of their Birmingham depots, or from site depending on the project with the opportunity to work from home one day per week. They do provide a car or car allowance and expenses.

What will you deliver?

To take responsibility, ownership and accountability of the successful management and control all aspects of the commercial / financial and contractual elements of designated projects within a Division to control and maximise the company profitability, protect the legal and contractual obligations under the contract and to manage proactively the control of all commercial issues. This is to include managing other commercial and operational resources, ensuring applications and valuations are completed in line with the contract terms and ensuring sub-contractors receive prompt payment and are procured in line with our contractual obligations and commitments to Sub-contractors. In addition, ensuring cost reports and the like are real time, managed, completed on time and monitored.

Who are we looking for?

Relevant Quantity Surveying Experience on appropriate Construction projects

Experience working on social housing frame works

External refurbishment experience

Can demonstrate negotiation skills

Demonstrable experience in line management and developing junior team members
