REMOTE AREA NURSE- Agency Contracts

Location: Alice Springs, NT (Hospital Based)

Contracts: 4-12 weeks

Short Contracts: We facilitate short term placements that suit your availability and experience.

Summary - About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Remote Area Nurses for short contracts to provide health care services to remote communities. The ideal candidate will be passionate about making a difference in underserved areas and capable of working autonomously and withing a dynamic team in challenging environments.

As a Registered Nurse, Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Develop individualized care plans based on patients' needs, preferences, and goals, in collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team.
  • Provide skilled nursing interventions to patients in their homes, including wound care, medication administration, IV therapy, catheter care, and disease management.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and response to treatment, and intervene as necessary to address acute or chronic health issues.
  • Inspecting wounds, changing dressings, and handling personal grooming and hygiene.
  • Testing for muscle weakness, bedsores, and any signs of infection.
  • Monitoring patient recovery and compiling reports for the physician.

What We Require From You

  • Bachelor of Nursing qualification (or equivalent) and current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum of 2 years working in remote or rural healthcare settings
  • Ability to work autonomously outside hospital environment
  • Evidence of prior service
  • Specific qualifications or Training for specialty area
  • National police certificate
  • A valid and up to date Ochre Card
  • Up to date vaccinations
