The Educational Equality Institute, an NGO based in Norway committed to educating and thereby empowering disadvantaged girls.

In response to the war in Ukraine, we started the project: “Together for Ukraine”.

Free educational programs where we, together with our partners, will help 100.000 Ukrainians shape their future through education, upskilling, and employment.

We are seeking dedicated volunteers to join our team as Professional Skills Mentors. In this role, you will provide personalized mentorship to students, helping them enhance their skills, improve their employability, and achieve their educational and professional goals. Mentors should focus on areas they are comfortable with and knowledgeable about, whether it's digital skills, business, entrepreneurship, marketing, or any other professional field.

Role Scope

  • Provide one-on-one or small group mentoring sessions on professional skills topics you are proficient in (e.g., digital skills, business management, entrepreneurship, marketing, financial literacy, etc.).
  • Develop personalized learning plans and set achievable goals for mentees.
  • Offer guidance, support, and resources to help mentees progress in their learning journey.
  • Monitor mentees' progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with other volunteers and staff to share best practices and improve mentoring strategies.

Requirements

  • Experience in teaching, tutoring, or mentoring in your area of expertise.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Proficiency with online communication tools (familiarity with digital tools and platforms, such as learning management systems or virtual collaboration software, to enhance the mentoring experience).
  • Passion for education and helping underprivileged communities.
  • Fluency in English, both verbally and in writing.

It’ll be considered advantageous: 

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or in your field of expertise; or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience or training in working with diverse populations or underprivileged communities, with an understanding of cultural nuances and sensitivity to different backgrounds.
