The Director, Operations Strategic Program Management is responsible for implementing strategic and on-market support projects globally for the Operations business. These projects are typically cross-functional and/or multi-site initiatives targeted to provide long term gain on key strategic initiatives advancing ICU Medical’s cost competitiveness or capacity position in the market. These cross-functional project teams will include personnel from various groups within the organization and outside vendors. Projects under this individual’s umbrella of responsibility will represent significant opportunities for ICU Medical. These projects will be global in both scale and scope, and have direct visibility to senior leadership. The Director will work closely with R&D, Engineering, Quality, Operations and Manufacturing team members to ensure that projects are delivered within budget and schedule with no material impact to product service and quality. As appropriate, the Director, Operations Strategic Program Management will also be responsible for representing Operations from a program management standpoint for all projects impacting Operations either internally or through third party manufacturers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Facilitate the development of business case analyses, development of project plans, and execution of project plans across Operations.
Build relationships with cross-functional leaders across the company to facilitate cooperation and execution of Operations related programs to advance the business.
Actively participate in development and execution of strategic project plans including schedules, budgets, and resources
Help define project resource requirements and negotiate team assignments with functional managers, as required
Maintain management oversight of project budgets and capital expenditures
Maintain management oversight of project risks and mitigation plans to ensure business and project objectives are met
Challenge PMs and functional groups to meet project goals and commitments
Provide routine project status communications to Sr. Leadership
Utilize coaching and facilitating skills with program shareholders to ensure proper project management processes are employed and best practices utilized
Provide leadership to Program Managers globally who are responsible for end-to-end leadership on projects impacting the Operations business.
Work on special projects as they arise.

Exposure to FDA and other Regulatory Compliance bodies
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Presentation skills – to team and senior leaders
Education And Experience
Must be at least 18 years of age
Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering from an accredited college or university is required
Master's Degree preferred
PMP certification preferred
Medical device manufacturing experience (manufacturing, engineering, validation, or science related) – 10 years required, 15 years preferred
Experience in managing degreed professionals – 10 years
Physical Requirements And Work Environment
This is largely a sedentary role.
This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
Typically requires travel up to 30% of the time
This role is based remotely; the incumbent may be remote in any state other than Colorado; California; Connecticut; Montana, Maine or New York.
