Are you ready for the next step in the energy sector as a Project Primary Engineer for High Voltage (Primary)? Do you want to collaborate with us on interesting, challenging, and complex projects? If so, we have the perfect job for you!
Our client is a young company with ambitious future plans. Given the developments in the energy sector, as a Project Engineer for High Voltage (Primary), you can grow with us in the coming years. If you're proactive and looking for a new challenge, we have an opportunity for you!
Your primary focus is on high-voltage components (primary) and the associated structures for the installation and assembly of these components. This includes high-voltage transformers, switches, disconnectors, and the associated current and voltage transformers, cable and line connections, and all supporting structures. You are responsible from the initial design to the execution and completion of the project. You create project and design specifications based on developed technical concepts and perform pre- and post-calculations.
In other words, you design the primary components for our projects. Such projects involve a variety of tasks, including design, but also monitoring the schedule. You use your technical insight to make an effective translation from functional design to executable project plans. Additionally, you handle technical documentation and execution documents, working according to the Systems Engineering methodology.
You are responsible for a wide range of engineering tasks (work packages). You work with the project team from the beginning to the end and act as a sparring partner for the technical manager in the successive phases of the project, from the basic design in the preparation phase to detailed engineering. You provide guidance to both internal and external engineers.
You design and verify integrated solutions based on customer specifications, technical standards, guidelines, and laws and regulations. In addition to all of this, you ensure proactive progress monitoring, resolve issues, provide feedback on your findings, perform quality controls, and are responsible for project documentation. Along with the project team, you share the responsibility for a sound design based on safety, technology, and practical feasibility.
Here's what you bring
A completed bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or energy technology with an affinity for mechanical engineering or equivalent.
Affinity for energy technology, preferably with knowledge of power grids, and prior experience in a similar work environment.
Knowledge of high-voltage components such as switches, disconnectors, or connections is a strong advantage. You enjoy working with electrical networks (high voltage) and energy technology.
Strong communication skills and experience in project-based work.
What you'll get in return
Our client is a young company with ambitious plans for the future, where showing initiative and taking risks are rewarded. In addition to a fun and enthusiastic team eager to meet you, you'll find a pleasant working atmosphere and ample opportunities for personal development. We understand that you may not know everything from day one, and we are here to support your growth. Development is highly valued at our company, so we encourage candidates with mechanical knowledge from fields like steel, construction, machinery, or shipbuilding to apply as well.
Where you'll work
You'll work in one of the best locations in Rotterdam, with the most beautiful view over the city: the "Willemswerf" in Rotterdam. If the nature of the work allows, you can work from home. Additionally, you will regularly visit our projects throughout the Netherlands.
