APES (Association of Protecting Exotic Species) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, shelter, and adoption of exotic animals. Alongside our brick and mortar services, we run a digital magazine promoting the health, welfare, and understanding of exotic pets. We are currently seeking a talented Content Creator to join our dynamic team.

As a Content Creator, you will play a crucial role in the skeleton of our digital magazine. You will help increase our brand visibility and impact by creating engaging, insightful and idea-filled content related to exotic pets.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Developing, writing, and editing high-quality content related to the health and welfare of exotic pets for our digital magazine.
Crafting engaging social media posts to promote the digital magazine and its articles.
Moderating and responding to comments to foster a strong community and conversation around each post.
Reviewing and correcting mistakes on all posts before publication to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity.
Staying informed about industry updates and incorporating these themes or topics into the content.
Collaborating closely with our team to brainstorm new content ideas, implement feedback, and optimize the effectiveness of our posts.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications or a related field.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in content creation or a similar role.
Outstanding writing and editing skills, with an ability to tell compelling stories.
Basic understanding of SEO and content marketing principles.
Strong social media skills.
Familiarity with the exotic pet industry – owning a pet or having experience in this field would be a plus.
Ability to juggle multiple tasks while meeting tight deadlines.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
