Job description

SC&A is seeking a Senior Chemist or Chemical Engineer with strong knowledge of the the characterization of solid and hazardous wastes per the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). Candidates should have a BS, and ideally an MS, in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and be familiar with EPA's analytical protocols in SW-846, "Test Methods for Evaluating Solid Waste: Physical/Chemical Methods". Candidates must be US Citizens, live in the United States, and have at least 10 years of experience. The proposed candidate should have experience analyzing and addressing technical and policy issues related to hazardous waste listings and characteristics, hazardous waste treatment technologies and treatment standards, and analytical methods used for waste testing and contaminated site cleanup.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Provide regulatory support related to 40 CFR Parts 261 and 268
  • Participate in site visits, data collection, and investigations regarding environmental topics.
  • Review technical/program documents and applications.
  • Communicate with regulators on compliance issues
  • Interact with clients
