Job description

Position Overview

Under immediate supervision, performs duties related to the processing of new business facultative applications, ensuring quality and productivity standards and goals are met. Provides customer service to department staff and clients. **

Responsibilities**

  • Processes new business facultative applications and additionals which includes, reviewing and verifying information, searching the applicant, entering data into required fields, linking appropriate files, preparing the file for Underwriter review, and assigning underwriters according to distribution guidelines. Ensures department policies/procedures, MIB and required federal regulations are followed and adhered to. Ensures quality and productivity standards are met.
  • Researches incomplete applications and corrects discrepancies, ensuring data is accurate and entered into the system in a timely manner.
  • Handles incoming department telephone calls. Provides customer service to callers and provides status information as requested. Provides underwriting quotes to caller, if requested, ensuring all information is verified with caller to ensure guidelines are followed and accuracy of data.
  • Assists with the facultative file requests received from the Claims Department and Not Taken Notices received from clients.
  • Analyzes and determines whether a case should be waived using the OFAC system. Reports to management, questionable instances or those where positive identification of an individual on the OFAC list has occurred. Follows all regulations and guidelines established by OFAC.
  • Assists in opening, sorting and distributing daily department mail. Scans in incoming facultative applications, additional papers and other underwriting correspondence into designated folders.
  • Provides administrative support to department staff, as needed.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education And Experience

Required:

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
  • 1 year of relevant work experience

Preferred:

  • Insurance or reinsurance experience

The general pay range for this position is up to $42,500 base per year. Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location.
